Day 1

Computer Networks

The day started with Mr. Ali Reza Sajun giving us a tour of the multiple laboratories and equipments used by the Computer Science and Engineering Department (CSE) at the American University of (AUS).

Then our session began with senior lab instructor Mr. Wissam Abou Khreibe. The first thing that Mr. Wissam taught us was the basics of networking, including the different types of networks and their functions. He explained how different devices, such as routers and switches, work together to create a network and how they communicate with each other.

Next, we learned how to use Cisco Packet Tracer to design and build our own networks. Mr. Wissam showed us how to add devices to the network and how to connect them using various wires, such as straight through and crossover cables . He also taught us how to configure the devices, such as setting up IP addresses and enabling the networks from the command prompt.

Throughout the course, Mr. Abou Khreibe provided us with hands-on exercises to practice our skills and troubleshoot any issues that arose. He was always available to answer our questions and provide guidance when needed.

By the end of the course, I felt confident in my ability to configure and make computer networks using Cisco Packet Tracer. I am grateful to Mr. Abou Khreibe for his excellent teaching and for providing me with the foundational knowledge and skills I need to succeed in the field of networking.
